Frequently asked questions
We support a wide range of learners:
• Educational Therapy: For students in grades 2 through college
• Search & Teach (S&T): For pre-readers ages 3–7, focused on early identification of learning challenges
• Cognitive Coaching: For learners from grade 4 through age 20, targeting skills like attention, memory, and organization
Yes—many of our services are available virtually. However, online sessions are not ideal for students with ADHD or executive function challenges, as they often benefit more from structured, in-person support. During your initial consultation, we’ll help determine whether virtual or in-person sessions are best for your child.
Costs can vary based on a number of factors, because every child’s needs are different. Session rates typically average around $100 for an 1.5 hour session, but final pricing depends on:
• Type of service (Educational Therapy, Cognitive Coaching, or Assessment)
• Session length (30, 45, or 60 minutes)
• Frequency of sessions (once a week or multiple times per week)
• Level of customization needed to support your child’s goals
After an initial consultation, we’ll create a plan that works best for your child and provide a clear breakdown of what to expect financially.
We do not accept insurance directly. However, we are registered with NCSEAA (North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority), a scholarship program that can help subsidize the cost of Educational Therapy or testing. We’ll be happy to walk you through this option during your consultation.
We begin with a required cognitive evaluation—either a psychological test (like the Woodcock Johnson IV or WISC-V) or a more affordable learning aptitude test offered by Cherene. This helps us understand your child’s learning profile and determine if Educational Therapy is the right fit.
Next, your child completes academic and informal tests to assess strengths and areas of need. If therapy is recommended, sessions are held twice a week for 90 minutes. Most students complete the program in 2–3 years with lasting gains in thinking skills and academic performance.
To get started, contact Cherene at 862-754-5296 or email her directly.
